(5/6) Top of the Pops Title Sequence

When studying my HND in Visual Communication at City of Glasgow College, I was given an assignment which centred around the creation of a title sequence for a theoretical revival of the Top of the Pops television show. It was required that the sequence be 3D and have a style that reflected the shows status as being reborn in the modern age.

I focussed on symbolism regarding speakers and audio cables to reflect the nature of the show, used colourful lighting to match its branding and logo, and incorporated angles, pacing, animation and camera work that helped to evoke the style of the opening of a major primetime entertainment programme.

The project allowed me to experiment outside of my speciality in 2D animation and gain valuable skills in other disciplines and mediums.
