During my time spent studying an HND in Visual Communication at City of Glasgow College I was given a motion graphics brief to create visual branding for a theoretical college student ran tv station, alongside producing two ident bumpers and a broadcast schedule animation.

I used the colleges colour scheme and simplistic symbolism of cities and ‘radio’ broadcasting to create the visual style, alongside utilising fast and exciting motion design to entice viewers.

The project gave me a valuable insight into the kind of work motion designers undertake at broadcast companies, and educated me about industry methods and standards – such as creating motion graphic templates that video editors can later use in other software.
